As the calendar year comes to a close I find myself once again drawn to this natural opportunity for reflection.
Cultural traditions and celebrations surrounding the end of the year often promote collective reflection. These shared practices create a supportive environment for introspection and renewal.
However the end of a year also serves as a symbolic boundary, encouraging us to pause, look back on what has been, and plan for what lies ahead.
It marks the conclusion of a chapter in our lives; a moment to assess accomplishments, challenges and changes, giving us a sense of closure before embarking on a new phase.
Taking time to reflect at the end of the year can help us move forward with clarity, purpose, and optimism.
Below are some reflection questions for the season I’ve been playing around with and wanted to share in case useful to you:
What are your most memorable moments of the past year?
What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them?
What are you most proud of this year?
What lessons have you learned in the past year?
How have you grown as a person since last Christmas?
Who has been a significant source of support or inspiration for you this year?
What are you most grateful for this festive season?
What are your hopes and goals for the year ahead?
What practices from 2024 do you want to carry forward into the New Year?
Which relationships do you want to repair or strengthen in 2025?
What moments of joy have you experienced this holiday season?
How can you create more meaning and joy for yourself and those around you as the year continues?
For now, wishing you and yours health and happiness for the New Year! x
